An easy-to-read story of Scott's life. One of the Pocket Biographies series.
Huntford, R., Scott and Amundsen, Weidenfeld and Stoughton, GB (1993)
This is the most authoritative book but it is highly controversial because of its strongly worded criticism of Scott. Teacher reference or senior secondary.
Preston.D., A First Rate Tragedy, Constable. London (1997)
An accessible re-telling of the Scott story and a more objective consideration of the reasons for Scott's failure. Teacher reference or senior secondary.
Reader's Digest, Antarctica, Reader's Digest. Australia (1985)
Good coverage of the whole exploration period of Antarctica's history as well as covering the natural environment. A clear, concise summary of the Terra Nova expedition. Useful for all levels.
